Lagos Empowers Youths In Comprehensive Agric, Other Sector’s Training

In its attempt to further enhance food security in the state and replace ageing farmers, the Lagos State Government has organized one – month training program for the youths in the state.

Dr Nurudeen Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Rural Development, while revealing the training on his Facebook page on Thursday, said that the state government is committed to ensuring that there is food security in the state.

“The Lagos State Government has successfully concluded a comprehensive one-month training program focused on agricultural entrepreneurship for the youths”, he said.

“This initiative aims to address the critical need to replace the ageing farming population with young, skilled individuals proficient in modern agricultural techniques.

“Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing food security in Lagos State.

“This commitment is geared towards increasing food production and fostering sustainable livelihoods within the community’.

Agbaje also revealed that the comprehensive training is not restricted to the Agriculture alone, but also to other sectors.

He charged participants to take advantage of the trainings, and ensure that they use skills acquired for development.

“In addition to the agricultural training, similar programs are being conducted across various departments, including the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, the Office of Rural Development, WAPA, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“I urge all youths to participate actively in these programs as they present valuable opportunities for future growth and development. Moreover, I would like to highlight that federal government student loans also play a significant role in job creation, further supporting the state’s efforts to improve employment prospects”, he said.
